This is a 18 x 24" commission of a galah pair. For those of you who can't tell, the male is on the right, the female on the left.

The lighting on the photograph is a bit funny, but a big improvement over my cell photographs I used to take. Yay for new cameras!

Colored pencil on recycled paper. Took roughly 12 hours overall.

I am currently offering 30% off of everything for the month of January. That includes commissions. Get custom artwork from me for as cheap as $24.50! :) See this journal for details : [link]

Gorgeous! Are males and females different? I see you drew their feathering differently, are they sexable like that?

The feathers were just the owner's preference, she wanted the male to be more alert and curious, and the female more puffy and content :) Females have reddish-brown eyes though, whereas males have blackish-brown.

I see! Well you executed her preference perfectly then. Thanks for telling me about the eyes :) I saw that too but wasn't sure if it was how the light entered the eye in whatever inspiration you were given to draw them. It is so neat you can sex them like that!

Thanks! Yeah it is very unique that they can be sexed that way. I believe some other species of cockatoo can be as well, but not as drastically.
