A panther (or to be technical, melanistic jaguar) I did relatively quickly. I am aware that the anatomy is not perfect, any critique on that note is more than welcome.
As a side note, I guess I'm not half bad with black fur and feathers. My best friend keeps telling me she loves the way I draw black... things. Which is strange because I would consider my work done in black less detailed
Anyway, this was probably done in 4 or 5 hours, with a black prismacolor marker and colored pencil. I use marker as an underlayer for black animals, it gives them more solid and rich color and makes it so that I am not whittling away my black pencils.
This item is for sale! See my Etsy shop : [link] Selling it for $30 because it was done quickly and does have a few mistakes. Hopefully someone likes it regardless!
Oooh this is truly beautiful. I think it is worth far more and whoever buys this for such a good price is very lucky indeed! Well done, the lighting on the left side is particularly impressive.
Thank you very much I am happy with the way it turned out, but I thought I should price it low simply because I know there's a few mistakes. But thank you
Only someone that's veeeeeery scrutinising would pay them any mind. I wouldn't even say they were errors, sometimes an animal that's facing a direction other than side or front can look a lot different! I find 3/4 to be the most challenging angle of all and this is wonderful. You're more than welcome, it's a joy to look at!
Thank you. I actually love 3/4, for me front-facing is the most difficult! But the perspective of 3/4 is a little challenging, because of how different features can look, as you said. I am definitely going to attempt this one again sometime
I think the symmetry of eyes can be difficult with portrait but for some reason 3/4 has always been my most challenging aha. Looking forward to seeing the revised one, if it's anything like this one it will be incredible
