Thief by KristynJanelle Thief by KristynJanelle
I have been meaning to draw a Kea for a while, but wasn't sure I'd be able to portray them quite right. Let me know any thoughts you may have!

The Kea is a parrot, although to most people it probably wouldn't look like one. They're native to New Zealand, often found in forested or alpine areas, and they're famous for being pesky little vandals. It's not uncommon for them to destroy parts of cars and steal human belongings. Interestingly, they're also omnivores, and although it's not uncommon for parrots to eat bugs, Keas have been known to attack full-sized mammals. Their beak isn't that sharp looking for nothing!

This was done in colored pencil as usual, probably took around eight hours total. I am not the best with inanimate objects, if you couldn't tell :XD: But I am working on it. The snow is paint :)

This piece is for sale! Check out my Etsy shop this this and other listings : [link]

I am also available for commission : [link]

This is amazing! The colours are especially gorgeous, they really look like jewels in amongst the duller feathers, and are really the redeeming part of the kea ;-) Plus I love the snow, it really gives the drawing a feeling of spontaneity and movement. Beautiful job!

hahaha, this is a funny one. This bird looks so cute you can't be angry at him for long as he's stealing one of your things. ^_^
